Several Affected as In-Flight Disturbance Hits Delta Aircraft Arriving in Sydney, Australia

Several people have been injured when a Delta jet from LA to Sydney experienced significant turbulence this past Friday.

Delta Flight 41 "encountered brief turbulence" as it touched down at Sydney Airport, a representative for the carrier stated. A number of the onboard staff sustained injuries.

The New South Wales Ambulance Service reported they treated five individuals, and took a trio to the hospital with minor injuries that such as back pain and headaches. Those affected were between their 30s to 70s.

The event represents the most recent case of aircraft being hit by severe turbulence, with experts saying that shifting climate patterns is a key driver.

The aircraft was carrying 245 people and fifteen staff members on the aircraft, the official added, adding that the plane arrived "safely" at Sydney Airport at 06:48 local time on the day in question.
